Farmer’s market in San Luis Obispo nets amazingly fresh produce, delicious barbecue and hilariously bad keyboard players. Yesterday however, a breath of fresh air blew through when I happened upon a man named Scott Williams. He was rocking out on the hammered dulcimer playing Billy Idol’s “White Wedding.” Backed by an instrumental track and wearing a mic headset, he would nod his head to the beat, way into his playing and tap his hammers? together when waiting for the instrumental breaks to be over. All I could think while watching is how great a job this would be for a character in a comedy movie – think Saving Silverman’s Neil Diamond cover band.
